  • Thursday 18 July 2024 Riki Cycle Today Years 1-3 were visited by the fantastic Riki Cycle, who came to teach us the importance of recycling and how to do it.
  • Tuesday 16 July 2024 Year 6's Performance of Oliver I told Year 6 after yesterday’s performance that I couldn’t be prouder of them. Well, they proved me wrong tonight. They were incredible! They are such a talented group of children who showed immense courage to perform in front of an audience.
  • Sunday 14 July 2024 Keech Hospice Short Tail Trail Mr Ruffett and his son have been out exploring the Keech Hospice Short Tail Trail this morning and found Trust the Pioneer Learning Trust designed tortoise. The tortoise was a collaboration between Southfield Primary Academy, Chantry Primary Academy and Whitefield Primary Academy pupils and has turned out brilliantly. Other members of the public were praising the use of braille on the design and how it made it accessible for everyone.
  • Friday 12 July 2024 50th Anniversary - Staff Past and Present Celebration What a special evening we had honouring Southfield staff past and present as part of our Golden Anniversary celebrations. It was wonderful to welcome back so many of the schools original staff and many others who have served the school in the last 50 years. It was a privilege to be able to show them how the school has changed and hear their stories.

  • Saturday 6 July 2024 Year 3 BeWilderwood Residential Our Year 3 Pioneers were not letting the weather spoil their fun at BeWILDerwood today. The children are now at the accommodation waiting for the England game to kick off. Keep an eye out for more pictures coming soon.

  • Tuesday 2 July 2024 Y5 Black Country Museum Visit Year 5 had a brilliant day on their trip to the Black Country Living Museum today. They went back in time for the day experiencing life as Victorians. They had a lesson in a Victorian classroom (where some of the staff were in big trouble), visited a coal mine, shopped in Victorian shops and much more. Learning really came to life!
  • Friday 28 June 2024 Y5 Schools Linking Visit - Eagle Class Eagle class had a wonderful time on their trip to Stockwood Park as part of the Schools’ Linking Project with Banneker Class from Chantry Primary Academy. They demonstrated fantastic team work skills and had a lot of fun building their vehicles.
  • Wednesday 26 June 2024 Luton Netball Tournament Congratulations to our year 6 Netball team who were amazing at the Luton netball tournament today. They played some excellent games, scored some lovely goals and made great interceptions. They won most of their games and were excellent representatives of Southfield.

  • Tuesday 18 June 2024 Democracy Assembly - General Election 2024 We had a special visitor to our Key Stage 2 assembly this morning. Labour candidate Sarah Owen for Luton North spoke to the children about democracy, the general election and even some history about voting and the importance of having your voice heard. The children asked some really thoughtful questions and came up with a few manifesto suggestions of their own!
  • Tuesday 18 June 2024 Y6 Taskmaster Education Champion of Champions Year 6 had a great time watching the School Taskmaster Champion of Champions at the Warwick Arts Centre. The games were hilarious and they had fun watching and cheering the teams on. As always they were outstanding representatives of Southfield with other members of the audience complimenting their excellent behaviour.
  • Monday 17 June 2024 Y5 Schools Linking Visit - Hawk Class Hawk class had a great time at Stockwood Discovery Centre on Friday with their friends from Jenner class at Chantry Primary Academy. They enjoyed the challenges and showed excellent teamwork and cooperation skills.

  • Monday 10 June 2024 Y4 Walesby Residential The children have had a great start to the afternoon at Walesby, some have taken part in orienteering, raffle shooting and archery. We have made our beds and are ready for evening activities.

  • Thursday 6 June 2024 Sportability Some of our children has a great time at ‘Sportability’ at Luton Sixth Form College.
  • Thursday 6 June 2024 Nursery Leighton Buzzard Railway Visit Our intrepid Nursery children were lucky enough to enjoy a special ride on the Leighton Buzzard Railway this week. They even had a double decker coach to get them there! What an amazing experience!
  • Wednesday 5 June 2024 GB Hockey Our Year 5 and 6 Pioneers are having a real treat today enjoying watching GB Men and Women hockey teams playing in the FIH Pro League.
